Jess and Matt

About the day...

Some weddings are memorable because of the venue, some because of the people, and some because of the little moments that make the day uniquely theirs. Jess and Matty’s summer wedding at Barn in the Fells had all three.

Nestled amongst the beautiful Cumbrian countryside, Barn in the Fells provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxed celebration filled with laughter, personal touches and an incredible atmosphere from start to finish.

Photographing the day… in a support boot.

Every wedding is different, and this one came with an extra challenge for me. I was photographing the entire day wearing a support boot after injuring my ankle. While it certainly slowed me down a little, there was no way I was going to let it stop me capturing every important moment.

Thankfully, Barn in the Fells offers such beautiful surroundings that it was easy to make the most of every location without having to venture too far. From the stunning countryside views to the characterful barn itself, there were endless opportunities for relaxed, natural photographs throughout the day.

The ceremony was full of emotion with beautiful reading from both the mother of the bride and mother of the groom, before guests spilled outside to enjoy drinks, canapés and the gorgeous summer weather. With the rolling Cumbrian landscape providing the backdrop, Jess and Matty were able to spend time celebrating with family and friends while we stole away for a few relaxed portraits around the venue.

One of my favourite details had to be the personalised tambourines given as wedding favours. They were a brilliant addition, bringing plenty of fun throughout the day before making a very noisy appearance on the dance floor later in the evening! It’s always the thoughtful, personal touches like these that make a wedding feel completely unique to each couple.

Following heartfelt speeches and a fantastic wedding breakfast, the celebrations continued into the evening with live music from the bride’s dad’s band. It made the evening feel even more personal, creating an incredible atmosphere that kept the dance floor full from the first dance onwards.

Watching family members perform for the newlyweds always adds something special, and the energy in the room was infectious.

Congratulations again to Jess and Matty. Thank you for trusting me to capture such an incredible day!

Review...

"Omg she strikes again!!! Everyone is soooo obsessed with them Becca. Like the way you have captured us in the moment… next to none You have made us so eternally happy and all our family and all our friends. I’ve spent hours on FaceTime screen share with my mum going through every single one together.. laughing crying and reminiscing. We will have these until we are an old couple, they honestly mean so much"
